Male And Female Drivers

Most people have an assumption that men are better drivers than women. This statement is of course, arguably. This essay will therefore compare three different aspects on how male and female drivers can be evaluated. These aspects are concerning the driving skill, the characteristics of the gender, and research-based facts on how things actually go in the reality.

It is often said that men have better driving skill than women. This may be true remembering men are usually the bread winners in the family, and therefore has more power and access to mobility. In the old days, men were the ones who needed to go out to work while the women would stay at home to take care of the kids. This situation has certainly changed now in these days. However, men do about 60-65% more driving than women so that they may have better capacity than women.

It can also be argued that the skill of a good driver is not based on gender. They more center on the character of a person. In reality, it can be seen that males, especially young men, tend to drive more aggressively than women because of factors such as the emotional ones, and they tend to display their aggression in driving. Furthermore, male drivers are more likely than women to break the law, and the male drivers also tend to be more of a risk-taker (e.g.: not using safety belt and drive in high speed). Historically, men always claimed women were the bad drivers because women were a little too cautious and they didn’t take the chances men would take on the road. Women do not see vehicles as a way to show off. Generally, women are more cautious and less reckless. We do not see a woman revving up the engines at stoplights, then squealing away.
Many guys like to be macho with their cars, which is just an extension of their ego. It has long been proven that women are less likely to be convicted of driving offences and their accidents are less severe than those involving men.

In fact, studies have shown as many as 73 % of all people killed in car accidents are male. Since record keeping began, male fatalities significantly outweigh female fatalities. Studies show that woman take shorter trips and female drivers have a greater number of minor crashes than do men. However men are still 70% more likely to be in a serious crash. Some researchers believe the explanation is to be found hormones related to aggressiveness, others put more emphasis on data such as the measurably greater alcohol use among men while driving.

Based on these three aspects, now it can be concluded that men are not always becoming better drivers than women because there are many factors to be considered before a male and a female driver can be judged. However, it is clear that the capacity of driving is mostly based on the characteristics of the driver though hormones and background of each person is significantly counted as the motivators

Male and Female Drivers

In the old days, men were the ones who needed to go out to work by driving while the women would stay at home to take care of the kids. But this situation has certainly changed now in these days. However, men have better chance or capacity than women because men intended to drive about 60-65% more than women.

It can also be argued that the skill of a good driver is not based on gender. They more center on the character of a person and also knowledge of the laws, road awareness, handling ability, knowledge of road courtesy rules, etc. All of us have our weakness while driving. In reality, women, they are too cautious even ‘overcautious’ while driving, and men (especially young men) they are ‘risk-taker’ who dare to take unnecessary risk and drive aggressively than women. Men driver paying more attention to be a good driver than a women driver paying attention. Historically, men always claimed women were the bad drivers because women being too cautious and less reckless, they didn’t take the chances or risk which men would take on the road. Most men drives follow their emotion / ego, but women do not see vehicles as a way to show off. It has long been proven that women are less likely to be convicted of driving offences and their accidents are less severe than those involving men.
